While the disappointing showings from several of the former Bayern Munich magician’s partners in the middle of the park have dragged him down, it must be said that he failed to cover himself in glory on Saturday as well.

Gabby Agbonlahor typically pulled no punches while assessing what went wrong for Liverpool against Wolves, singling out Thiago.
“Recently, I’ve been watching Liverpool and they’re not playing like a group of players playing for the manager.”
“You look today [Saturday], [Naby] Keita, Thiago strolling around. The 3rd goal from [Ruben] Neves, Thiago just not even bothering to follow the runner. Their form is horrific”, Gabby Agbonlahor said on talkSPORT.
While the former Aston Villa striker usually gets stick for his hot takes, it’s hard to disagree with him when it comes to his assessment.
Thiago was far from his best as Liverpool suffered yet another humilation
While many tend to consider the £225,000-a-week man rather lightweight, he is extremely underrated from a ball-winning point of view.
However, that was not the case on Saturday, as Liverpool lynchpin Thiago seemed to give up as Wolves went 3-0 up, just jogging along as Ruben Neves fired the ball into the back of the net, as pointed out by Gabby Agbonlahor.
Sure, Joe Gomez, who was rightly called out by Steve Nicol is perhaps the main player to blame for the goal, as he gave the Portuguese international a clear run at Alisson Becker.
But, considering Thiago struggled to showcase his creativity and run the show for Liverpool against Wolves, Agbonlahor is right in emphasising that the least he can show is effort.
