Aston Villa humiliated Birmingham City 1-0 in the Second City derby on Sunday afternoon.
Gabby Agbonlahor stated on Instagram that Jack Grealish received ‘justice’ after Aston Villa beat Birmingham City 1-0 in the Second City derby on Sunday afternoon.
Early in the first half, a man attacked Grealish while Villa were in the Blues half, with the individual quickly surrounded by the players and taken away by the stewards.
But Grealish got the last laugh as he scored the winning goal as his team won the bragging rights in what was an edgy and feisty Second City derby.
This was Agbonlahor’s Instagram message after the game to Grealish:
In the game itself, Villa deserved all three points as they produced the best chances of the game and were the dominant team after the break.
Dean Smith opted to introduce John McGinn and Andre Green midway through the second half and the duo made an instant impact as the latter nearly scored within minutes of coming onto the pitch.
But their introduction, particularly McGinn’s, pushed Villa further up the field and brought the likes fo Tammy Abraham and Grealish into the action.
Then on the 67th minute, Grealish picked the ball up from the edge of the area, carried the ball into the box and hit a perfectly-placed shot into the bottom corner.
The result means that Smith’s side are now four points outside of the play-off places as they have also completed the double over their bitter rivals.
Added with that, they have picked up back-to-back wins, back-to-back clean sheets and they take on former manager Martin O’Neill in their next Championship fixture.
