Gabby Agbonlahor has taken to Twitter to hammer Aston Villa goalkeeper Robin Olsen after his old side were knocked out of the FA Cup in the third round by League Two outfit Stevenage – who came from behind to win 2-1 at Villa Park.
Things looked good for Villa. Dominating possession, fringe player Morgan Sanson opened the scoring after a lovely move involving Philippe Coutinho, Douglas Luiz and Danny Ings. A neat finish from the Frenchman, his first for Villa.
But Stevenage came back. Steve Evans masterminded a brilliant win, a man that once managed Emi Martinez during a loan at Rotherham. Jamie Reid equalised from the spot, after a mix-up at the back. Leander Dendoncker was sent off.
Then, in the dying moments of the match, a short corner saw Dean Campbell lash a left-footed effort on goal. While Olsen will have expected to save it, he allowed the effort to fly in at the near post. Agbonlahor was not impressed.

The £3million signing will have been incredibly disappointed by Stevenage’s winner. Seemingly caught on his heels, he will not want to watch it back. But, to throw him on the scrapheap as Agbonlahor has, it is incredibly harsh.
It must be remembered that Olsen is an experienced goalkeeper. He boasts more than 300 appearances at club level throughout his career, 63 caps with Sweden, and the likes of Everton and Roma on his CV. Olsen is a good goalkeeper.
His mistake was hardly a howling one and just as much blame can be pointed at a Villa defence who failed to react to the short corner. Olsen is a good goalkeeper to have as cover for their World Cup winner, in the form of Emi Martinez.
