Gabby Agbonlahor now wants Unai Emery’s Aston Villa to secure a transfer deal for Leicester City winger Harvey Barnes after signing Youri Tielemans.
Aston Villa’s first capture of the 2022/23 summer transfer window is Youri Tielemans, after he departed the relegated Foxes upon the expiry of his contract this month and moved to the West Midlands.
That deal pleased Agbonlahor on Twitter, but he now wants Harvey Barnes through the Villa Park doors, he has a contract at the King Power until 2025: “Thanks for Tielemans!,” wrote Agbonlahor. “Barnes next – He (Tielemans) didn’t wanna play for a poor team. When he’s around top players he will shine my friend.”

The deal for Tielemans was a bit more straightforward because there was no transfer fee involved and it was just a case of agreeing terms with the player.
But the Barnes one might get a little tricky, especially given that other Premier League teams are keen on the 25-year-old’s signature.
With West Ham set to sell Declan Rice, it has been suggested that the fee raised with his transfer could be used on players like Barnes.

Will Barnes add another Midlands club to his CV?
As Villa fans will know too well, Barnes spent a small period of time on-loan at West Brom during Villa’s promotion season from the Championship.
He has repped two Midlands club, so is he about to add another to his CV in Aston Villa? If he doesn’t want to move home, then it’s the logical answer.
Villa can offer Europe and he does bring some much-needed competition to the squad, it’s just a case of how much money will interested parties be willing to put on the table for a relegated player.
