Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Juan Foyth was the surprise match winner at the weekend at Selhurst Park.

The Argentine popped up to score the only goal of the game in a tight 1-0 win for Spurs.

It was a more successful night than a week earlier, when Foyth was responsible for giving away two penalties against Wolves in a 3-2 win.

Pundit and former Wales international Danny Gabbidon commented on Twitter to praise Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino for sticking with the 20-year-old.

He added that Crystal Palace’s lack of attacking threat may have helped with the decision.

Foyth had done well ahead of the Wolves game, impressing against West Ham in the Carabao Cup.

Pochettino is a big admirer of the youngster and he will have helped his confidence by sticking by him.

Foyth will return to the bench once Jan Vertonghen returns from injury. Right now he is proving to be a valuable squad member.
