Tottenham star Eric Dier has launched a stunning tirade at Manchester United’s Ander Herrera.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Eric Dier has launched a furious attack on Manchester United’s Ander Herrera following an altercation during Tuesday’s England versus Spain match, as quoted by The Guardian.

England took on Spain on Tuesday evening just days after beating Scotland 3-0 at Wembley Stadium – and for some time, it looked like Gareth Southgate would claim a huge victory.

Adam Lallana put England in front from the penalty spot early on after Jamie Vardy had been brought down by Spain goalkeeper Pepe Reina, before Vardy headed home to make it 2-0 in the second half.

England fell apart in the dying seconds though, as Iago Aspas first pulled one back in the 89th minute, and Isco swooped in the 95th minute to seal a stunning comeback from Julen Lopetegui’s side.

Whilst the game was a friendly, the game wasn’t without controversy. Many felt that striker Vardy was lucky not to be sent off after an ugly-looking challenge on Cesar Azpilicueta, and Spain midfielder Ander Herrera got away with an elbow on England’s Eric Dier.

After the final whistle at Wembley, Dier spoke to The Guardian about the incident with Manchester United’s Herrera – and it’s fair to say that the Spurs star is far from happy.

Dier suggested that Herrera deliberately tried to injure him with an elbow to the face well after the ball had gone, branding the United star’s actions as ‘ridiculous’ and ‘dirty’.

The midfielder added that he doesn’t want Herrera to apologise as he will ‘see him soon’, suggesting that he wants revenge on the Spaniard when Tottenham face Manchester United at Old Trafford in December – and having seen Dier scythe through the Chelsea side back in May, Herrera may have entered a losing battle.

“I think it’s pretty clear what he did and I can feel it on my cheek now,” said Dier. “I’ve made a pass and it was a long time afterwards [that] he’s elbowed me in the face, and I just can’t see why. For me, it’s just ridiculous. So I know what he did, and I don’t like that kind of stuff. I don’t mind people kicking each other at times and stuff, but that’s just dirty and not needed.”

“I don’t need him to apologise. I’ll see him soon … These things happen. But I don’t know why he did it, to be honest. That’s why I was angry. It was just strange and it’s not nice,” he added.
