West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to react after the Irons were drawn to face Manchester City in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

What’s the story?

Well, West Ham were barely given any time to celebrate their win over Manchester United before being slapped with this unwelcome news.

Manuel Lanzini’s goal handed David Moyes a fantastic 1-0 win at Old Trafford last night against his old employers.

It was a spirited display, which showed plenty of fight after what happened at the London Stadium on Sunday.

However, the east Londoners will have to do it all again in the fourth round, as they’ve been given the hardest tie left in the competition.

The Citizens have won the Carabao Cup four times in a row, and no club has won the League Cup more than Pep Guardiola’s side’s six successes.

Fear not West Ham fans – the cup run certainly isn’t over yet.

Manchester City are an incredible side, but they haven’t looked themselves so far this season.

Guardiola oversaw a 0-0 draw against Southampton last time out, and also lost the Community Shield after a 1-0 defeat to Leicester.

Of course, they’re still among Europe’s greatest sides, but there are definitely some weak points which West Ham can exploit.

After all, anything can happen in these competitions – it’s the magic of the cup.

It was a bit of a kick in the teeth to be drawn against the reigning Premier League champions, although the West Ham fans below must start believing.

For now, let’s see what they’ve been saying about the draw on Twitter…
