Reo Griffiths has clinched his move to Lyon after leaving Tottenham Hotspur.
Griffiths netted 33 goals in all competitions at youth level for Spurs last season and there were high hopes for the teenager.
He has elected to try his luck elsewhere, choosing to move abroad with Lyon.
Griffiths was unveiled by Lyon, and spoke of his desire to follow in the footsteps of the club’s former strikers Karim Benzema and Alexandre Lacazette.
Tottenham will rue never getting the chance to see Griffiths potential in their colours, and however his spell at Lyon pans out, there will be questions whether he could have been ever better if he stayed at Spurs.
Fans were calling for him to be promoted to the first team when he netted four goals in an under-18 game against Arsenal earlier this year, but a contract wrangle put a cloud over him being fast tracked.
It looked odd when he was left off the club’s pre-season tour, and now he is set to try his luck in France.
