Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter after the Daily Mail revealed how much those who signed up to the Super League have already lost.

The Daily Mail claim that Liverpool, as well as Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester United and Manchester City, have already lost £8 million.

It is also said that the six Premier League clubs could still face huge financial punishments after withdrawing from the Super League.

The arrogant, elitist sextuple bought equity stakes of £8 million each in the Super League, to support its development.

They could also be forced to pay compensation, after breaching a clause in the 23-year contract they signed which states they cannot leave within the first three years.

It is unclear if this clause will be enforced. It is also unclear if the £8 million handed to the Super League will be refunded to the six English sides.

The Daily Mail mention that lawyers believe the contracts were designed to encourage teams to stick with the Super League plan.

However, the backlash was so extreme that they had no choice but to pull out.

£8 million isn’t that much in context for these leading English sides.

However, it very much feels like it didn’t need to be lost.

Effectively, each club spent £8 million on nothing, other than a burned bridge to their supporters.

Let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying about the Daily Mail‘s revelation…
