Speaking on Everton’s YouTube channel, Seamus Coleman has named Alex Iwobi amongst the most skilful players at the club.
A number of the Tofees’ players were asked to name the most skilful player in training, and as you can imagine, there were plenty of answers given.
Alex Iwobi and James Rodriguez were amongst the most popular answers, but Coleman couldn’t split the pair.
What’s been said?
Coleman named Iwobi alongside Rodriguez as the trickiest player at the club.
“Most skilful in training would probably be Alex Iwobi or James Rodriguez. It’s difficult to choose between the two of them, but Alex is full of stepovers and Cruyff turns and he’s difficult in training to get the ball off of, while James, his quality speaks for itself,” Coleman said.
Coleman wasn’t the only Everton player to name Iwobi as the most skilful. Abdoulaye Doucoure shared a similar sentiment in his answer:
“Alex Iwobi, he’s so skilful, he’s the most skilful in the team.”
Confidence
Iwobi is a fantastic talent, but far too often we’ve not seen it at Everton.
He needs to play with more confidence. He has all of these tricks in his armoury, but we very rarely see them on the pitch.
Hopefully, Rafa Benitez can coach him into playing with a bit more flair this season and he can have a breakout campaign.
