Manchester United want Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon as new left-back option, but is he more of a winger now and therefore better suited to Spurs?

The report says that Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho wants to add a left-back to his squad this summer with Luke Shaw expected to leave and Ashley Young approaching his 33rd birthday.

Is Sessegnon a left-back?
Yet is the 17-year-old even a defender anymore, with his 15 goals in the Championship this season having come largely since being pushed up the pitch by boss Slavisa Jokanovic?
Sessegnon may have broken into the Cottagers first team as a full-back, but his movement in the final third and sharpness in the box has quickly made the teenager more suited to the left wing.

That is not really a problem position for United, who signed Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal in January and also have Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford who can play in the role.
However, at Spurs a young attacking midfielder converted from the back – just as Gareth Bale was – could complement Mauricio Pochettino’s current options and added to the fact that Sessegnon would prefer to stay in London if he does leave Craven Cottage, surely Tottenham are his most logical choice?
