Celtic defender Dedryck Boyata was wanted by Fulham, Olympiakos, Fenerbahce in the summer transfer window, says his agent Jacques Lichtenstein.

Jacques Lichtenstein has revealed that Premier League club Fulham, Greek side Olympiakos and Turkish outfit Fenerbahce all wanted to sign Boyata from Celtic in the summer transfer window.
The defender’s agent has also disclosed that there were offers for the Belgium international centre-back, who has been on the books of Celtic since the summer of 2015 when he joined from Manchester City for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £1.5 million.
“Previously there was interest from Fulham, Olympiakos and Fenerbahce,” Lichtenstein told The Daily Mail. “Offers of £7million and £8m – but apparently Celtic is financially strong enough not to go into that.
“It’s strange, because on the other hand, the club apparently does not have the money to make Dedryck a dignified new contract proposal.”

Tricky situation
With Boyata’s current contract at Celtic running out at the end of the season and no new deal in place, there is growing uncertainty on the future of the 27-year-old.
Fulham may not be able to sign the defender this summer any longer, but Olympiakos and Fenerbahce still can.
The Hoops are still in danger of losing the 27-year-old in the summer transfer window, and Boyata’s potential exit would be a massive blow to Celtic, unless of course, they can sign a suitable replacement rightaway.
