In a quirk of the fixture list, Fulham and Bristol City will play twice in three days.

The early season form for both clubs has been a mirror image of each other.

Both had a perfect record after two games in the Championship, but it has gone downhill from there, each claiming just one victory from their last six league games.

The frustrating thing for supporters of both clubs is that their best is very good.

Fulham chalked up victories against Newcastle in the league, and Middlesbrough in the second round of the EFL Cup.

While Bristol City’s best result to date has been a highly impressive 3-1 victory against Aston Villa at the end of August.

The Cottagers’ biggest issue so far this season has been lack of goals only averaging a goal a game from their eight fixtures.

Conversely, City striker Tammy Abraham on loan from Chelsea, has been in red hot form with six league goals.

However they wouldn’t want a repeat showing of their game against Sheffield Wednesday anytime soon where they coughed up a two goal lead to lose 3-2.

Both managers have suggested there will be contrasting lineups over the two fixtures.

While it is too early to say that next couple of games will shape their respective seasons, it is important that Fulham and Bristol City experience that winning feeling sometime soon.

With both teams coming into the fixture with similar records this match could go either way, but home ground advantage just sways it in Fulham’s advantage 2-1.
