Foot Mercato have reported that Fulham are set to compete with Roma to sign Rennes right-back, Hamari Traore in January.
The 30-year-old sees his contract expire in the summer, which perhaps makes it an astute move for both sides to throw in their names in the ring for his signature.
While Fulham are flying in 8th place in the Premier League under Marco Silva, they could certainly do with the addition of a new right-back such as Hamari Traore.
Kenny Tete, while being a serviceable player in his own right most certainly needs upgrading.
As for Kevin Mbabu, he seems to have struggled to adapt to the Premier League since stepping foot in West London this season.
However, Fulham will certainly have one of Europe’s biggest clubs in Roma to overcome to secure the services of Hamari Traore.
While a top 8 finish in the league would be sensational from both Marco Silva and the Cottagers, maintaining that is a hard task, which is why they must strengthen in the winter window.
Here is a fresh transfer update surrounding the current dominant force in West London.
Fulham set to compete with Roma for Hamari Traore

As per a report by Foot Mercato, Fulham are ready to compete with Roma to complete a deal for Hamari Traore from Rennes in January.
Furthermore, it has been reported that Fulham have already made an offer to the Ligue 1 side between £2.6 and £3.5 million.
It has also been mentioned that the offer made by Marco Silva’s men could be accepted by Rennes, considering Hamari Traore would end up leaving on a free transfer in the summer.
As for Roma, only recently have they started looking into signing the Malian international.
While only time will tell whether Hamari Traore ends up choosing a team of the stature of Roma, his leadership, considering he has captained Rennes for most of this season and quality would do wonders for Fulham if he joined in January.
