Fulham’s Lazar Markovic arrived at Craven Cottage in January.

According to a report in Voetbalkrant, Fulham will look to offload Lazar Markovic this summer with Belgium’s top-flight the Jupiler Pro a potential destination for the winger.

Markovic was once a £20 million signing for Liverpool. However, his time at Anfield didn’t go as planned and the Serbian ended up going out on loan as many as four times to the likes of Hull City and Fenerbahce.

With his contract running out in the summer at Liverpool, then Fulham boss Claudio Ranieri opted to bring him in on a free transfer until the end of the season, but Markovic has had no impact at Craven Cottage.

The 25-year-old has made just one substitute appearance for Fulham since joining the club, coming on at half-time in the 3-1 defeat at fellow London side West Ham United.

The hopes of Markovic helping Fulham avoid relegation from the Premier League have spectacularly failed and he will reportedly need to find a new club this summer.

Markovic is familiar with Belgium’s top-flight having spent a season on loan at Anderlecht, but it was reported that he rejected a £2.9 million permanent move there last summer.

Fulham spent big in their bid to stay in the Premier League, and this summer they will have to make changes to the squad if they wish to have a sustainable base for life back in the Championship.
