Fulham have approached Serie A strugglers Livorno to discuss the possibility of taking striker Paulinho on loan, it was revealed on Sky Sport Italia.
Livorno may be joint bottom of Serie A but Brazilian striker Paulinho continues to shine and has reportedly attracted a bid from Fulham.
Paulinho, or Paulo Sergio Betanin, has six goals to his name this season despite Tuscan side Livorno’s difficulties and he is becoming a reliable scorer in Italy.
The 28-year-old, who also has an Italian passport, has been with Livorno since 2005 when he signed from Brazilian side Juventude and has netted 48 times in 130 games – a statistic that is more impressive given the lack of service he has often had to put up with.
Paulinho also impressed during loan spells at a lower level at Grosseto and Sorrento where he scored more than a goal every other game.
Arsenal have allegedly also been taking an interest in Paulinho but they haven’t made any move and are unlikely to challenge their fellow Londoners.
Livorno are unlikely to agree to letting their star striker leave while they are embroiled in a bitter relegation struggle, but they are a small club and have limited finances so may have to consider the offer carefully.
