Fulham are said to be ‘in a three-way tussle’ with Sunderland and Reading to sign Derby County’s Martin

Fulham are still being linked with a move for Chris Martin… days after Slavisa Jokanovic claimed the Derby County striker – who is also said to be interesting Sunderland and Reading – would not come back to Craven Cottage.
Both the Sun and the Daily Mirror report in their printed editions on Tuesday – page 48 and 46 respectively – that Fulham are in the hunt for Martin’s signature.

According to the Daily Mirror, the Cottagers are ‘in a three-way battle’ for the Scot’s services, alongside Sunderland and Reading.
Martin, who has started five of Derby’s Championship fixtures since returning from a loan spell at Fulham last summer, looks certain to leave Pride Park ahead of Wednesday’s transfer deadline, after being budged further down the pecking order by new recruit Cameron Jerome.

A return to west London would come as some surprise, however, after Cottagers boss Jokanovic told Get West London: “Martin won’t come back to Fulham.”
