Premier League high-flyers Fulham are looking at Championship trio Max Aarons, Danny McNamara and James Bree with a deal for Arsenal misfit Cedric Soares in the balance, according to the Daily Mail.

Marco Silva has cash to splash this month. But that does not mean the Fulham boss has lost his sense of value.

Fulham are in talks with Arsenal regarding 31-year-old Portugal international Cedric but the defender’s £75,000-a-week wages have slammed the breaks on any potential deal, even if there is a willingness from both sides to come to some sort of a compromise (90Min).

The Cottagers are leaving nothing for chance, however; the Mail reporting that three of the Championship’s finest full-backs have been lined up as potential cut-price alternatives.

Norwich’s £10 million-rated speedster Max Aarons is one such option. A target for the likes of Barcelona and Bayern Munich in previous windows, Aarons’ reputation has been impacted by a pair of Premier League relegations at Carrow Road but, at just 23, he is still young and brimming with potential.

Danny McNamara, a stalwart for perennial overachievers Millwall, is also on Fulham’s radar. Ditto James Bree of Luton Town. Bree, once a £3 million signing for Aston Villa, has bounced back from that disappointing spell in claret-and-blue. He’s now one of the Championship’s stand-out full-backs at Kenilworth Road.

“He’s a top right back. We’re very, very fortunate to have him,” says former Hatters and now Southampton boss Nathan Jones, who describes Bree is a player of ‘Premier League quality’ (Luton Today).

“(Signing him) is a credit to our recruitment in what we do. We’ve got some real good players at this football club, considering the budget we’ve got.”

In addition to Cedric, Fulham could also walk away from a deal for Everton’s £20 million benchwarmer Abdoulaye Doucoure. He earns even more than the Arsenal veteran, taking home a reported £120,000-a-week at Goodison Park.
