Redmond’s struggles have been such that he was booed by some Southampton supporters recently, and it is clear that the 23-year-old requires a boost to get himself out of his current predicament.
The game against Fulham could well be the opportunity he needs, as Redmond would surely relish the opportunity to make a major impact against the Championship side.
If he was to produce an encouraging performance and end his scoring drought then it would provide Redmond with a major confidence boost, which would be hugely beneficial for Southampton going into the remainder of the season.
