Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic has given his verdict on young starlet Ryan Sessegnon, as well as his team’s 1-1 against Burton Albion.

Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic has praised 16-year-old full back Ryan Sessegnon, after the record-breaking wonderkid excelled once again for the Championship club, in comments appearing in GetWestLondon.
Sessegnon scored a last-minute equaliser for Fulham against Burton Albion on Tuesday night, helping his team secure another vital point in their push for a place in this year’s play-offs.
In scoring for Fulham, Sessegnon also become the youngest player ever to score in a Championship encounter – as well as the first player born in the 21st century to score a goal in English fooball.
After his latest impressive performance for The Cottagers – his fourth appearance of the season thus far – Fulham manager Jokanovic was quick to defend his talented young asset.

“I prefer not to speak about him,” Jokanovic told the media, as quoted by GetWestLondon. “I try to protect him. He is only 16 and a few months. We feel he has a very happy bright future in front of him.
“Always when I give him a chance he performs enough to prove me right.”
Sessegnon’s early season form for the London club has been enough to see the young full-back linked with a multi-million pound deal to Premiership side Tottenham.
Despite the young wonderkid’s impressive performance – and his side’s ability to claw a late point back from their latest encounter – Jokanovic remained disappointed by his team’s inability to convert their chances.
“I’m always disappointed when we don’t win the game. We made many positive things today during the game. We had the game under control and made some chances, but we weren’t clinical.”

Fulham made 13 new signings over the course of the summer window, and Jokanovic was also quick to highlight the importance of allowing time for his new players to gel.
“Some players have been with us two months, some a few weeks. We need time. I understand perfectly that in football, time doesn’t exist, but this is our realistic situation.
“It’s a new team. I am proud of things that my team did today. We wanted to play, they didn’t want to so much.”

Fulham’s next encounter is an away clash at Championship-strugglers Wigan Athletic on Saturday afternoon – with The Latics having taken just four points from their first seven games of the season.
