Fulham are now pushing to keep hold of giant defender Tosin Adarabioyo in order to fend off the likes of Arsenal and Newcastle United.

That’s according to The Sun, who claim that Fulham have opened talks to get Adarabioyo tied down to a new contract.

Adarabioyo has just one year left on his Fulham contract and the Cottagers don’t want to lose him.

If Adarabioyo doesn’t sign a new deal, it may well be that Fulham are under pressure to sell now before he leaves for nothing.

Boss Marco Silva wants Fulham to give Adarabioyo a long-term contract and rule out any summer transfer.

It’s stated that Arsenal and Newcastle both wanted to sign Adarabioyo last summer and Fulham want to rule out moves to either club this summer.

It’s unclear whether Arsenal and Newcastle do actually want Adarabioyo again this summer.

Mikel Arteta knows Adarabioyo from his time at Manchester City and may see him as vital defensive depth at Arsenal.

Ben White and Gabriel Magalhaes are the first-choice pairing at Arsenal, but Adarabioyo is young and an enormous aerial threat.

Newcastle are also in the market for another centre back but their spending plans have become a little grander since last summer.

You may also question whether they would partner two giants together in Adarabioyo and Dan Burn.

Fulham seemingly fear both clubs will come back in for Adarabioyo, but the real threat may actually be West Ham United.

talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook has claimed that West Ham want to sign Adarabioyo at the end of the season.

Hailed as ‘brilliant’ and ‘fantastic’ by his former Blackburn teammate Darragh Lenihan, Adarabioyo is clearly highly regarded.

Fulham’s promotion will certainly help them keep Adarabioyo, but they will have to be wary of Arsenal, Newcastle and West Ham.
