Some Liverpool fans on Twitter are absolutely raving about Harvey Elliott.
Well, the 18-year-old attacker has been winning praise from Liverpool supporters all season following what’s been a brilliant loan in the Championship with Blackburn Rovers.
But on this occasion, Elliott is being lauded for more sentimental reasons.
Prior to Rovers’ 1-0 defeat at Hillsborough on Tuesday, the Liverpool gem carried a flowery tribute around the field which read ’96 YNWA’ in memory of the Reds fans who perished inside this stadium in 1989.
Here’s how fans of the Anfield club reacted to Elliott’s tribute on Twitter:
The former Fulham youth, who joined Jurgen Klopp’s side in 2019, has six goals and 11 assists in the Championship this season which, for a young player, is a fantastic return when you consider how physical the division is.
He’ll be returning to Liverpool this summer but it remains to be seen if he’s ready for Klopp’s senior side or whether another loan – this time perhaps in the Premier League – is the better option.
