Gabriel Agbonlahor has stated that the style of play under Antonio Conte at Tottenham is reminiscent of the times under Jose Mourinho.
The former Inter Milan boss has been slated by both fans and pundits alike for playing a drab brand of football.
Despite the decorated manager having the likes of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski within his ranks, Spurs have often been underwhelming to watch.
One of the biggest flaws under the tutelage of Antonio Conte has also been the scrappy manner in which they get results under Tottenham.
After failing to control several games for a majority of the contest, it takes a moment of individual brilliance right at the end for them to nick a win or a draw.
This aspect has frustrated Spurs fans in particular, as they have often voiced their frustration at not enjoying the football on display.
Agbonlahor compares the style of play under Antonio Conte to the Jose Mourinho days

Gabriel Agbonlahor has compared Tottenham’s brand of football under Antonio Conte to the dark days under Jose Mourinho.
“A lot of frustrating games where they’re sitting back too much. It’s like watching them under Mourinho at times”, he said on talkSPORT.
“But some games, where the run forward by themselves, they attack more, they look very good.
“In the European game [against Marseille] which got them into the next stage of the Champions League, they were frightening when they went a goal down. They stepped it up. You just want to see that attacking Spurs, don’t you?”
It’s hard to disagree with Agbonlahor’s take on the Tottenham manager
Ultimately, it’s only in games where Tottenham set up to attack in transition where they entertain.
In matches where Antonio Conte’s side have to run a game from start to finish, they have often looked out of ideas.
Much like the team did under Jose Mourinho.
However, it’s safe to say that Tottenham fans will not complain as long as Conte guides them to a long-awaited trophy win
