Ilkay Gundogan has claimed that it was frustrating to see how much more Arsenal wanted the win over he and his team-mates last night.
Mikel Arteta masterminded a 2-0 win over Manchester City as Arsenal moved into the final of the FA Cup.
Pep Guardiola’s bossed the overall stats, boasting 71 percent possession and 16 shots compared to the Gunners’ four.
But the North Londoners produced a superb defensive effort and there seemed to be more hunger from the men in red and white at Wembley yesterday.
And that’s what the Germany international is annoyed by, telling City’s official website: “Sometimes one very bad half is enough to lose the game and it looked like Arsenal wanted it more to go to the Final today which was the most frustrating part.”
Nights like this are a reminder that Arsenal are absolutely going places under Arteta, who left Guardiola’s staff to join the North London club as Unai Emery’s successor back in December.
This came a few days after Arteta oversaw a 2-1 win over newly-crowned Premier League champions Liverpool, further proof that the Emirates Stadium club just might’ve made a sound appointment here.
