Clinton Morrison has said on Sky Sports News (12:12pm, October 15, 2022) that Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney is not happy at the moment.

The former Crystal Palace forward believes that Tierney is frustrated at Arsenal at the moment due to lack of regular playing time.

The Scotland international has had injury problems during his time at Arsenal, but he is now fully fit and available.

However, Tierney was left out of the Arsenal starting lineup against Liverpool in the Premier League last weekend.

Arteta decided to start Takehiro Tomiyasu at left-back despite the Japan international being a right-back by trade.

Oleksandr Zinchenko is playing at left-back for Arsenal when he is fit and available.

Tierney has made three starts and five substitute appearances in the Premier League and has played three matches in the UEFA Europa League for the Gunners so far this season.

Clinton Morrison on Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney

Morrison said: “Tierney must be frustrated at the moment. Zinchenko is not fit, Tomiyasu comes in.

“I think Tierney is an outstanding defender, but if you want to win trophies, you need competition for places.”

What now?

In our view, Kieran Tierney should stay positive about regaining his place in the Arsenal starting lineup.

The former Celtic star is a very good defender who has lots of energy and can run up and down the flank all day long.

The left-back has has injury problems during his time at Arsenal, so it is not actually that bad that Tierney is not playing all the time right now.

Arsenal are playing in the UEFA Europa League and will also have FA Cup and EFL Cup games this season.

So, Tierney will get playing time.
