Telegraph journalist Jason Burt has told The Kelly & Wrighty Show that the mood surrounding Everton’s dressing room after their defeat to Burnley was a “very, very angry one”. He claims there was “finger-pointing”.
Everton suffered a dismal loss to relegation rivals Burnley on Wednesday, losing 3-2 at Turf Moor. Despite leading 2-1 at half-time, the Clarets came roaring back and Maxwell Cornet scored the winner on 85 minutes.
The defeat to Burnley sees Everton remain in 17th place sitting on 25 points – only a point above 18th placed Burnley. Leeds are in 16th on 30 points but have two played more games. Everton have lost 17 of their last 22 games.
Speaking after the 3-2 loss in Lancashire, journalist Burt claimed that he had been told the atmosphere surrounding the dressing room was a bad one. He claims there was anger, and people blaming eachother.
“The deflation after that game was so great. From what I understand, the anger from around the club, around the dressing room was a very, very angry one. There was a lot of finger pointing going on,” Burt said.

It has got to the point where Everton, a Premier League stalwart, not only look like they could go down – but that it is a surprise if they stay up. Burnley know how to do this, they have experienced players at this level.
Everton do not. A young squad, deflated players and plenty that are underperforming combined with a manager that is really struggling in a position he has never found himself in. Everton look like they could go.
