David Ornstein insists that he has heard Arsenal’s Nicolas Pepe is actually a very good trainer, as per his comments to the Athletic’s Youtube channel.

Arsenal’s record signing has come under fire after he was handed a red card against Leeds for an off the ball incident.

There have even been some suggestions that Pepe could find himself up for sale when the transfer market re-opens.

But Ornstein insists that Arsenal still have no desire to sell Pepe, and they actually believe he could still turn out to be an important player for them.

“From what I hear he’s [Pepe] a popular figure inside the club, trains well & hard, showcases his skills & ability,” Ornstein said.

“Arsenal have invested a hell of a lot money into him & I see absolutely no way in which they cast him off or look for him to leave.

“To the contrary, I think they will just be focused on getting the best out of him in the years ahead.”

Pepe has actually been publicly criticised by Arteta for his indiscipline against Leeds, but he could be offered an opportunity to prove his worth again straight away.

The Daily Mirror report that Pepe will be in Arsenal’s starting line-up when they take on Molde in the Europa League this evening.

If Pepe does start all eyes will be on his performance, and he will be expected to deliver an impressive showing.

Arsenal beat Molde 4-1 the last time the two sides met, with Pepe getting on the scoresheet in that contest.
