Alan Brazil has told TalkSPORT (Thursday, 9:05AM) that from what he hears, Mauricio Pochettino is not interested in taking the Aston Villa job and would rather wait for Antonio Conte to leave Tottenham and return to North London.
Villa have been linked with a move for the ex-PSG and Spurs gaffer, who is without a club. The Argentine left PSG in the summer, replaced by Christhoper Galtier. A report from 90Min says though, Pochettino is not interested by Villa.
Meanwhile, Conte is out of contract at the end of the season. It is widely believed that the Italian will sign a new deal with Spurs – and he has an extension in his contract that will at least run until 2024. But only, if he is backed by Spurs.
Wednesday night’s defeat to Manchester United is proof that Spurs still need a lot of work in the transfer window. A couple of injuries and they are some way off their best. Brazil shares whether Pochettino could join Villa, or Tottenham.

“From what I gather, and what I hear, he is very happy with his life. He’s got a property in Barcelona, one here. He still loves Spurs. I don’t know how long that would take. If Pochettino was offered the job – that is the one he would take.”
Brazil: Pochettino not interested in Villa and would wait for Tottenham
If Arsenal have proved anything by showing loyalty in Mikel Arteta, is that perhaps faith should be given when undertaking a project. Steven Gerrard deserves time and has been unlucky with injuries. But is there patience at Villa?
Fans are not impressed. The atmosphere is becoming toxic. Whether the Villa owners are willing to give him the time, patience and backing remains to be seen. A couple of poor results in the next few weeks might determine the result.
Pochettino would be a wonderful appointment. It would give the Argentine cash with a club looking north. But does the Argentine fancy himself joining a club that are pretty much a mid-to-low Premier League side? Unlikely.
