Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, David Seaman has been discussing Tottenham Hotspur and Dele Alli’s recent return to prominence.
The midfielder returned to Spurs’ starting XI against Liverpool over the weekend and it’s fair to say he impressed. He’s been earning plaudits from all corners of the footballing world and he looked close to being back to his best.
Seaman believes that the 25-year-old must have been seriously impressive in training to regain his place in Antonio Conte’s side.
What’s been said about Alli?
Seaman has a theory about Alli’s performances in training as of late.
“I think the fact that he was in the first XI, from the outside looking in, I’m thinking, he’s obviously impressing in training this time, because he’s not been injured, he’s just not been very good. Obviously, he’s impressed I training, they put him in and he did ok. He was involved in a lot and like we say, we’ve got to wait and see because he’s got to keep doing it,” Seaman said.

Stepping up
It would certainly seem as though Alli is impressing in training.
It was only a few weeks ago that it was reported that Spurs are willing to let him leave in January, but now, he’s working his way back into the fold.
Stephen Hunt says he’s heard Alli has been running hard in training, while Seaman seemingly believes the England international is performing at Hotspur Way.
If he can keep this up, Alli could end up recapturing the form that saw him win two PFA Young Player of the Year awards.
