Speaking on the Que Golazo Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has shared what he knows about Sadio Mane’s Liverpool future and a potential move to Bayern Munich.
The Sengalese attacker looks set to leave Liverpool this summer, and it seems as though the most interested party in his services is Bayern Munich.
Indeed, the Bavarian outfit have opened the bidding for Mane, offering Liverpool just £25m for his services, and as you can imagine, that fee won’t be enough to get the attacker out of Anfield.
Romano has spoken to plenty of people close to the deal, and according to the Italian, the fee may need to be over €40m.
What’s been said?
Romano spoke about Mane going to Bayern.
“I think it could be around €40-45m for Liverpool as the potential pricetag, but maybe the final deal will be €35m or something like that with some add-ons, but that’s just my opinion. But this is the feeling I get from speaking to people into the deal, Liverpool want way more than 25m, but he’s 30 years old, he’s a fantastic player and he’s out of contract next summer, and they also have Salah out of contract next summer, so they can’t play too much with this decision,” Romano said.

Fair price
If Liverpool receive more than €40m for Mane, they can’t really complain about that pricetag.
They signed the Senegalese winger for a similar fee back in 2016, and after six years of incredible service, they’ll be more than happy to break even.
Is Mane worth more than that? Of course he is, but at the age of 30 and with one year left on his contract, Liverpool don’t hold all of the aces at this point.
Sadly, it looks like Mane will be off to the Bundesliga this summer.
