Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, Duncan Castles has shared what he knows about Marko Grujic’s current situation at Liverpool.
The midfielder seemingly isn’t in Jurgen Klopp’s plans, and it’s no secret that he could be on the move this summer.
However, sources close to Grujic have claimed that the player believes he should be on the market for half of Liverpool’s current €20m (£17m) asking price.
What’s been said?
Castles says that Grujic doesn’t agree with his current asking price.
“This is basically their last chance to get significant money for him, they know there is a market there, they know that Porto want to sign him, but there’s a feeling that their asking price in a post-covid market of €20m is steep,” Castles said.
“My understanding is, from sources close to Grujic is that he would see €10m as a more realistic fee.”

Edwards the magician
Yes, €20m (£17m) is a steep price for a player like Grujic, but if any team is going to get such a fee for a cast-off player it’s Liverpool.
Michael Edwards is nothing short of a genius when it comes to selling players. He’s received huge fees for numerous fringe players over the years such as Dominic Solanke, Jordon Ibe and Rhian Brewster, and there’s no reason why he shouldn’t try to do the same with Grujic.
The midfielder may not agree with the asking price, but with Edwards in charge of transfers, nothing is too unrealistic.
