Speaking on The Done Deal Show, Ben Jacobs has been discussing Jude Bellingham’s future and Arsenal.
The Borussia Dortmund midfielder is one of the hottest properties in world football right now with so many elite clubs in the race to sign him next summer.
However, according to Jacobs, Arsenal are one of the clubs that aren’t currently in the race for Bellingham due to his pricetag, but that could change quickly as the teenager continues to impress at the very top level.

Arsenal not in the race yet
Jacobs shared what he knows about Bellingham and the Gunners’ view.
“With Arsenal there have been other names they have looked at, not Jude Bellingham for now,” Jacobs said.
“There will be more and more elite clubs entering this race, and the reason for that is because if you like him and didn’t want to bid for him, you could change your mind over the next year as you see him have more games as captain and more in the Champions League.
“There is a sky-high potential for him to develop, we don’t know how far he can go and that leadership at 19, under the right coach there’s a sky high potential. No elite club doesn’t want Bellingham, some just have another priority or have decided that the price is too high. That’s a key point with Arsenal, if they’ve decided the price is too high but they see him get more and more consistent at that point they might say that it’s worth paying above market value at the expense of an outgoing or at the expense of another target.
“At the moment, from my understanding, Arsenal aren’t in the race for Jude Bellingham, but that isn’t to say things won’t change.”
Calculated risk
Arsenal don’t want to be in the Bellingham race right now due to the pricetag, but as Jacobs says, things could change quickly.
The Gunners look good value for a top four finish right now, so they should have a healthy injection of cash next summer, and when you are cash-rich you can afford to take risks.
Bellingham would be a risk. After all, he’s never kicked a ball in the Premier League before, but if he continues to shine in Europe and for England, that element of risk will only reduce.
Arsenal could enter this race if they have a good season and deem Bellingham to be worth the risk.
