Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to react after hearing what Jeremie Frimpong said about his move from Celtic Park to Bayer Leverkusen.
Relayed by ESPN’s Bundesliga commentator Derek Rae, the Dutchman told BILD that he was ‘shocked’ about the German side’s interest.
Frimpong also describes Celtic – or perhaps, Scottish football in general – as no man’s land, which seems to have offended a couple of supporters below.
One said the 20-year-old has gone from hero to zero after hearing what he said about his transfer.
Another described the comments as ‘strange’ – in truth, he is treading a fine line with his use of the phrase no man’s land, but we’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Of course, it goes without saying that the Bundesliga is a bigger league than the Scottish Premiership, so you can’t be too angry at Frimpong.
The boy has gone from playing the likes of Aberdeen to lining up against Bayern Munich, and defending against superstars such as Robert Lewandowski and Jadon Sancho.

As big a club as Celtic are, you can’t deny that the former Manchester City man has taken a step up the footballing ladder.
Let’s see what the Celtic fans on Twitter have been saying about his comments…
