Sesko picks up award nomination after Carrick revival
Benjamin Sesko has been nominated for two Premier League awards in February, putting him ahead of Manchester United teammate Bruno Fernandes in the recognition stakes this month.
The Slovenian striker’s form has picked up noticeably since Michael Carrick returned to Old Trafford, and he’s quickly become a player who’s hard to ignore again.
While he hasn’t always started, Sesko came off the bench and made a real impact. His late winner against Fulham stood out, as did his equaliser in the draw with West Ham. Even when he hasn’t started, he’s found ways to influence results.
Sesko nominated for Premier League Player of the Month, Fernandes overlooked

Benjamin Sesko finished February by coming off the bench to score the decisive goal in Manchester United’s 1-0 victory over Everton in the Premier League.
The striker has since reclaimed a spot in the starting lineup under Michael Carrick, and he continued his scoring run with another winner in last week’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace.
His strong form throughout February has landed him a place on the six-man shortlist for the Premier League Player of the Month award. Sesko is United’s sole representative among the nominations listed on the league’s official website, while club captain Bruno Fernandes was left out.
Bruno Fernandes has also caught attention with his performances under Carrick, who brought him back into a more advanced attacking role following Ruben Amorim’s departure.
Benjamin Sesko’s goal against Fulham lands him a Premier League Goal of the Month nomination
Sesko is up for two awards this month, having also been shortlisted for Premier League Player of the Month.
His late strike against Fulham didn’t just grab headlines—it secured all three points at Old Trafford. The goal came in injury time, with Bernd Leno left no chance to react.
The league’s official site has listed Sesko among the eight nominees, recognising both his form and the significance of that goal.
Fans have until midday on 9th March to cast their votes for both awards.
