Celtic midfielder impressed on return in Old Firm win.
Olivier Ntcham made his Celtic return in the weekend’s Old Firm victory.
The midfielder was outstanding for the first hour, helping Celtic to control the game.
It was no coincidence that Rangers grew back into the match as Ntcham tired.
This was Ntcham’s first league game of 2019. To come back in and perform at a high level was not easy, but he managed it.
It says a lot about Celtic’s strength in depth that they have managed to effectively seal the league title in recent weeks without him.
They are much stronger now for having him available.
One of the questions lurking, is over how much longer Celtic will have him.
A report in The Sun on Sunday (31/3 p59) claimed Ntcham is angling for a move to England and Celtic value him at £12 million.
His performance at the weekend helped justify that valuation.
Whether he stays long or not, Celtic fans must enjoy him.
