Emmanuel Frimpong has urged Arsenal on Twitter to re-sign him and sell Granit Xhaka following last night’s debacle at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal fans must despise playing on Sunday evenings because they suffered yet another defeat, this time to Burnley, who ran out 1-0 winners against Mikel Arteta’s 10-men.
In the second half, Xhaka was shown a straight red for shoving Ashley Westwood to the ground, and in truth, his midfield partner, Mohamed Elneny was also lucky not to be given his marching orders just before the away team had scored.
All in all, former Arsenal academy product Frimpong, 28, was pretty annoyed with Xhaka, as he clearly feels the time is up for the £30 million midfielder [Sky Sports].
Whilst this isn’t the norm for Arsenal, the table now proves that they are in a relegation battle, which is pretty amazing for a club of their size.
Arteta will be having sleepless nights during these coming days, either waiting for that dreaded phone call or looking over his shoulder worrying that his team will drop into the bottom three.
There is no let-up for Arsenal this month because the games are going to come thick and fast.
If they continue in the same manner then things could look pretty ugly by the time the New Year kicks in and calling Frimpong might just be an option.
