Talk of a connection between Cole Palmer and Manchester United has not died down, and some around him think he might end up there eventually.

After a slow start to the season because of injury, Chelsea’s key player has looked sharp again in recent matches.

He is likely to get another start, given his strong record against Burnley, but the feeling that he might leave eventually still lingers.

Even with Ben Jacobs dismissing links between Palmer and United, a close friend of the Chelsea player has suggested there could be something in it down the line.

Musical artist Tunde, during an Instagram Q&A, was asked about the likelihood of Palmer joining United and replied: “Very high.”

The post has since been deleted, but that has not stopped Chelsea fans from growing concerned about a possible exit down the road.

Right now though, there is nothing to suggest he is looking for a way out. If anything, all signs point to him being happy where he is.

He has found new life alongside Joao Pedro in attack. The two not only work well together on the pitch but have also built a strong connection away from it too.

Chelsea have taken precautions to guard against Cole Palmer’s exit

In the end, if a lifelong United supporter is approached by the club, there is not much Chelsea can do to keep him from wanting to make that move.

When they signed Palmer, the Blues made sure to lock him down for the long term. According to Capology, his contract runs until 2033.

With seven years still left on his deal, Chelsea are in a position to demand a fee that could break Premier League records if it ever comes to that.

At the moment, only PSG would be able to meet those kinds of figures, which might help quiet any immediate worries about Palmer leaving.
