Tottenham target Max Meyer will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement from January.

German international Max Meyer refused to commit his future to Schalke last season despite his expiring contract.
Meyer’s deal expires in June, and long-time suitors Tottenham Hotspur are in a good position to swoop, having failed to add any attacking players in the summer.
Meyer had a poor season at Schalke last season but a summer coaching change left him open to seeing if his fortunes improved.
So far the signs under new boss Dominic Tedesco are not good.

This season Meyer played just 18 minutes off football in August across two appearances, and he has played just 45 minutes since the international break.
The fresh start Meyer was hoping for has failed to materialise, and an exit appears to be his best bet to relaunch his career.
German newspaper BILD reported on transfer deadline day in 2016 that Spurs had an offer of £38 million rejected for Meyer.
He has done nothing since to justify the valuation, and Schalke will be wishing they took the money.
Meyer would get a ‘truly fresh start’ at Tottenham, but he needs to demonstrate he is still deserving of their interest.
