According to Tuttomercatoweb, AC Milan are keen on a deal for reported Arsenal target Luka Jovic but will struggle to pay the Real Madrid striker’s wages.

The Serbia international has been heavily linked with a move from Madrid.

The La Liga giants only signed Jovic from Eintracht Frankfurt for £52 million last summer. However, the 22-year-old just hasn’t got going in the Spanish capital.

A report this past week in PianetaMilan claim Arsenal are keen to sign him.

The Italian editorial say the Gunners could see Jovic as an ideal replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Moreover, they would offer him around £192,000 per week in wages.

The vast finances in the Premier League allows English clubs to spend big on wages.

Milan, on the other hand, have to be much stricter as they simply can’t compete.

TMW claim wages of around £85,000 per week plus bonuses would make Jovic the club’s second highest earner. Talk of a £50,000 per week salary cap has been proposed.

Milan seemingly have some way to go before competing with Europe’s biggest clubs again. A lack of Champions League football has played a big role.

Arsenal, while likely to miss out on a top four finish this season, currently stand a far greater chance of attracting top players and Jovic may prove to be a decent option.

The Serb is out of favour at Madrid, making just a handful of La Liga appearances.

Manager Zinedine Zidane has attackers Karim Bemzema, Gareth Bale, Eden Hazard, Marco Asensio, Vinicius Jr and Lucas Vazquez all vying for first team spots.

Jovic will struggle for game-time, and the Gunners could offer him a viable escape.
