According to The Herald, Rangers have not completed the signing of Ianis Hagi on a permanent contract.

It has been reported that Rangers have not finalised any agreement with Genk over the permanent signing of the Romania international, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a forward.

This new report comes following claim from Romanian super-agent Giovani Becali that Rangers have sealed the permanent contract of Hagi.

Earlier today, The Daily Record quoted Becali as saying: “Ianis has just signed for one of the most important clubs in Europe. The deal is complete.

“I would describe Rangers as the Juventus of Scotland. I understand completely why Ianis has chosen to sign for them.”

Becali is the brother of Steaua Bucharest owner Gigi Becali; Hagi was at the Romanian club in 2007-08.

Permanent Rangers transfer?

Hagi – recently described as “a great talent” by ex-Manchester City striker Rolando Bianchi to The Sunday Post while discussing speculation linking the youngster with a move to his former loan club Lazio – joined Rangers on loan from Genk in the January transfer window, and the Romania international has done relatively well.

The 21-year-old scored one goal in the Scottish Premiership and twice in the Europa League for Rangers this campaign, according to WhoScored.

A permanent move would not exactly be a bad decision from Rangers, although it remains to be seen if the Gers would be willing to spend the £4 million needed to do so, as reported by The Herald.
