Last week, Gazzetta dello Sport claimed that Everton are lining up a move for Udinese striker Beto.
The Portuguese striker has been one of the best players in Italy so far this season with four goals in seven Serie A appearances, helping Udinese sit third in the table following his £9m arrival.
Now, a fresh report from the Mirror could suggest Everton are making space for his arrival.
Why Everton may be set to welcome Beto
Well, the Mirror believe Salomon Rondon could be about to leave Goodison Park, despite the transfer window closing for English clubs on September 1st.
The transfer window in the United Arab Emirates remains open until Tuesday, and the Toffees are now said to be happy to let the Venezuela international leave after receiving a bid.

That would leave Frank Lampard with just Neal Maupay and Dominic Calvert-Lewin in his centre-forward department, which certainly isn’t enough depth – especially when the latter has struggled badly with injuries over the last year.
Therefore, we think a January move for Beto – or another striker – could now be in the pipeline.
Everton also allowed Allan to join Al Wahda, which frees up a huge £120,000-a-week from the wage bill.
Everton could get a gem in Beto
In our view, Everton could snap up a rough diamond in Beto before the rest of Europe becomes aware of him.
The Udinese No.9 only recently arrived from Portimonense having never experienced life in one of Europe’s top five divisions before.
However, Beto’s incredible start in Italy suggests he is more than capable of becoming a big player on the European scene, so Everton may be onto something special.
Be sure to keep an eye on the Udinese star heading into 2023 – if he can maintain his stunning form, we certainly wouldn’t be surprised to see him at Goodison Park in January.
