Ally McCoist urges Marcus Rashford to quit Manchester United and seal a ‘fresh challenge’ amid reported transfer interest from Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain, he told talkSPORT.
Rashford has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford this season after struggling for form under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick. The 24-year-old has offered just five goals and two assists in 24 appearances across all competitions. He has also only started 14 games in all.
The England star made no impact whatsoever in the Red Devils’ Manchester derby defeat to City on Sunday, either. Rangnick introduced the 46-cap dynamo in the 64th-minute. But he was anonymous through the centre, and seemed absent-minded like many wearing red.

Fabrizio Romano soon reported for The Guardian that Rashford is considering his future at Manchester United, given his limited minutes. The forward is giving serious thought over a move away for the first time, while weighing up if things will improve when Rangnick goes.
Arsenal, Newcastle and West Ham would all be interested in Rashford’s transfer if he does decide to leave Manchester United. 90min report the Premier League trio are keeping close tabs on events at Old Trafford, where his contract ends in 2023 but has a 12-month option.
The Daily Mail also note Paris Saint-Germain like Rashford as they consider transfer targets to replace Kylian Mbappe. The Mirror claim while he is frustrated at rarely featuring, he accepts the situation is down to his lack of form.
McCoist urges Rashford to leave Old Trafford
McCoist would urge Rashford to leave Old Trafford for the sake of his career given how the club appears currently. The Rangers icon also feels a move to Ligue 1 and Paris may be the fresh start the forward needs to bring life back into a career stagnating with the Red Devils.
“I would [make the move],” McCoist said. “He’s got to look at himself. Why is he not in the team? It suggests he’s not doing enough for Ralf Rangnick for him to put him in the side.
“That said, you look at the club, you look at the surroundings – Manchester United are all over the place just now. If I’m Marcus Rashford, I’ve got to start thinking about myself.
“How’s he going to get back in that England squad? In a fresh challenge, somewhere like PSG. I’ve got that down as a good move.”
