Liverpool’s Mario Balotelli looks dejected
Liverpool loanee Mario Balotelli has been in a war of words with pundit Jamie Carragher in recent days, with the former defender critical of the Italian striker.
Carragher commented on Twitter that giving Balotelli was too expensive even on a free transfer, while the maverick forward hit back at the Reds legend.
Carragher even responded to being called a ‘hater’, mocking the striker’s flagging career prospects.
Now Balotelli’s new side have got in on the act, standing by their new signing, and sending a cheeky message to Carragher.
Their message was advertising the fact Balotelli’s shirt is available to buy, with Carragher asked via Twitter if he wanted to buy one. [Message to Nice, don’t get your hopes up!]
Balotelli left the club on a free transfer, following being sent out on loan a season earlier to AC Milan, where he struggled to regain his form.
Signing for Nice was not a predictable move, but when it comes to Balotelli, there is rarely anything obvious about his next actions, although a bit of stability right now is exactly what he needs to get his career back on track and prove those he calls ‘haters’ wrong.
