Sergio Reguilon is officially a Tottenham Hotspur player.

The return of Gareth Bale has dominated headlines in the English press in recent days, as Spurs looked poised to re-sign the 31-year-old on loan from Real Madrid.

It’s a massive story and one that has perhaps overshadowed the other player who Tottenham have signed, Reguilon.

The North Londoners swooped to get him in a £25 million deal from Real, with the Spanish defender and Bale arriving in England at the same time on Friday.

The Lilywhites hadn’t confirmed it until an hour ago, but Zinedine Zidane has revealed earlier today that the full-back will be playing under Jose Mourinho this season.

The former France international added that Reguilon – a Europa League champion with Sevilla last season – has fully earned his move to Mourinho’s side.

Zidane said to a press conference, as quoted by The Standard: “We have two players per position and I already have two full-backs. I wish him all the best because he had a good season in Seville and he deserves to be at Tottenham.”

It’ll be fascinating to see what Mourinho is planning for Reguilon.

After all, the Portuguese coach already has left-backs in the form of Ben Davies and Ryan Sessegnon, though the latter looks set to suffer most by the Spain international’s arrival.
