Nottingham Forest manager Dougie Freedman is relaxed ahead of the game against Leeds.
Nottingham Forest manager Dougie Freedman has suggested on the club’s website that it’s time for him to relax ahead of the game against Leeds United.
Freedman has done a superb job since he took over after Stuart Pearce, preventing the side’s slide down the table and consolidating the team ahead of the end of the season.
He’s suggested that the pressure is now off and expects Forest to put in a good performance this weekend.
“I’m really looking forward to it because it’s going to be two teams trying to win with ten games to go. That’s really exciting for me,” said the boss.
“For me as a coach it’s my time to relax. I’ve done my work. I sit back and enjoy watching the game, making sure my messages during the week are translating on to the pitch.”
Forest need to be wary of going into the match too relaxed, because Leeds have also been in good form since the turn of the year.
Leeds have some very good young and talented players who will have a big say on this game.
They have plenty of energy and it’s important Forest defend well before attacking effectively on the counter, looking to exploit space and any weaknesses the boss has spotted in the opposition.
With the play-offs unlikely, unless Forest produce perfect form and other results go the club’s way, Freedman can now experiment a little bit with his team selection, trying different ideas and methods with players ahead of the summer.
