Johnstone had a spell at Leeds United after leaving Sunderland.

The former Sunderland goalkeeper, Max Johnstone, won’t be joining Leeds United after a trial.
Johnstone played the full 90 minutes as a Leeds XI beat Tadcaster Albion 5-1 in a friendly earlier this month, following his release by Sunderland at the end of last season (Shields Gazette).
Leeds were without their three most senior shot-stoppers, Kiko Casilla, Bailey Peacock-Farrell and Kamil Miazek, that day and it remains to be seen whether the Whites had any intention of handing a deal to the 20-year-old.
But it is an option which is no longer available to Leeds either way, after his transfer to the Scottish Premiership side, St Johnstone, was announced on Wednesday.
Johnstone – whose older brother, Sam, is the West Bromwich Albion number one – only spent a season at Sunderland, where he was a regular at Under-23 level.
Like his sibling, the Lancastrian began his career at Manchester United, but left at the end of 2017/18.

Leeds may soon be in need of another ‘keeper, with Peacock-Farrell strongly linked with a move to Burnley.
Should Leeds have signed the former Sunderland man when they had the chance?
