Do Leeds need to look at another striker?

A general view of Elland Road Stadium prior to kick off in the Sky Bet Championship League match between Leeds United and Bolton Wanderers, at Elland Road Stadium on March 5, 2016 in Leeds,...

After selling Chris Wood, Leeds United were in need of signing replacements.

They chose to make late moves for Pierre-Michel Lasogga on loan, and Pawel Cibicki, to add to the addition of Jay-Roy Grot last week.

But should they consider a post-deadline day swoop on the free agent market to strengthen even more?

Here are five free agent strikers they could consider..

Giuseppe Rossi

Anders Møller Christensen of OB Odense competes with Giuseppe Rossi of Villarreal CF during the UEFA Champions League play-off first leg match between Odense BK and Villarreal CF at TRE-...

Former Italy international Giuseppe Rossi’s promising career has been blighted by knee injuries and he is once again looking for a new club.

Rossi’s performance for Villarreal once attracted the interest of Barcelona and he most recently played for Celta Vigo last season on loan from Fiorentina before his contract there came to an end.

At 30, he has been linked with moving to Major League Soccer. Should Leeds give him one last shot in Europe?

Rickie Lambert

Four years ago Rickie Lambert was embarking on a fantastic campaign for Southampton which saw him rewarded with a place in England’s World Cup squad.

A move to Liverpool followed, but he has dropped down a division since and featured for Neil Warnock’s Cardiff City last season.

Lambert may be 35, but used in a bit part role off the bench he could become an interesting option for the Whites.

Cheick Diabate

Mali international Diabate is looking for a club despite a successful 2016/17 season.

Previously contracted to Turkish side Osmanlispor, Diabate played on loan for French side Metz and scored eight times in 14 matches.

The 29-year-old former Bordeaux star has 15 international goals to his name and could be worth a gamble for Leeds.

Alessandro Diamanti

Former West Ham forward Alessandro Diamanti is unsurprisingly attracting interest from Italian clubs looking for a late bargain.

The 34-year-old attacker is looking for a new club despite playing 31 times for Palermo last season, where he played in midfield.

Diamanti has 17 international caps for Italy and can play in the number 10 role. He scored seven times for West Ham and also had a brief loan spell at Watford years later.

Nick Proschwitz

Aaron Mclean (L) and Nick Proschwitz of Hull (R) celebrate Hull's win after the Budwieser FA Cup Third round match between Middlesbrough and Hull City at Riverside Stadium on January 04,...

Hull City once spent £2.6 million on Proschwitz after he netted 17 times for German side Paderborn.

He was later loaned to Barnsley and then signed by Brentford and at 30-years-old could still have something left to offer.

Leeds may decide they are happy with what they have, but if they want an extra experienced body, then Proschwitz would take little time to re-adjust to the Championship.
