Adam Clayton has urged Leeds United to stick with Patrick Bamford in the Premier League, as quoted on Twitter.
Clayton, who is leaving Middlesbrough and is becoming a free agent, made the comments while responding to a Leeds fan about next season.
The 31-year-old midfielder believes that Marcelo Bielsa’s side deserved promotion, and has suggested that the Whites should keep faith in their first-choice striker Bamford, 26, next season.
Clayton was on the books of Leeds from 2010 until 2012 and also played with Bamford at Middlesbrough.

According to WhoScored, Bamford scored 16 goals and provided two assists in 45 Championship matches for Leeds this season.
During the 2018-19 campaign, the English striker scored nine goals and provided two assists in 23 league games for the Whites, according to WhoScored.
Keeping faith in Patrick Bamford
Bamford is a very good striker, and the role he played in Leeds winning automatic promotion to the Premier League cannot be undermined.
The former Chelsea and Nottingham Forest striker’s all-round game is very important to the way Bielsa’s Leeds play their football.
While Bamford should be kept as the first-choice striker at the West Yorkshire outfit, Leeds do need to bring in a new player upfront in the summer transfer window.
