Fram Larvik’s sporting director Jostein Jensen has told VG that Arsenal have completed the signing of George Lewis.

Jensen has wished the winger the best of luck at Arsenal, and has claimed that the 19-year-old has signed a contract with the Gunners.

Jensen told VG: “Yes, we can confirm that (Lewis has signed an Arsenal contract). I have been told that he has signed for Arsenal.”

Jensen added: “We wish George good luck.”

Arsenal speculation

Earlier this month, Goal.com reported that Lewis had a trial at Arsenal, and that the Gunners were in talks to sign him this summer.

It was reported that the 19-year-old spent two weeks on trial with the Gunners earlier in the year and was set to join the North London outfit on a free transfer.

The report added that Arsenal’s initial plan regarding the teenager was for him to link up with Steve Bould’s Under-23 side.

Lewis last played for Fram Larvik, having also turned out for Tromso IL and Tromsdalen.

Good move for George Lewis

Lewis is a very talented young winger, and the reported move to Arsenal would be good for him.

The 19-year-old would develop and progress with the Gunners’ Under-23 side, and perhaps in the coming years, he could break into the senior side.
