Former Ibrox midfielder Charlie Adam has suggested on PLZ Soccer that Leeds United need to offer at least £15 million to sign Ryan Kent from Rangers.

The Times have reported that Leeds have made a bid of £10 million for the former Liverpool winger.

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard himself told the club’s official Twitter page today that there has been an offer from the Whites.

The Liverpool legend added that Rangers have turned down the bid from the West Yorkshire outfit, who are preparing for life in the Premier League after winning automatic promotion from the Championship.

Former Rangers midfielder Adam, who is a free agent at the moment after leaving Reading earlier this summer, has suggested that Leeds need to offer at least £15 million to the Gers to make them listen.

Adam said about Kent on PLZ Soccer: “They won’t let him go for £10 million. If you start talking about the figures of £15 million, close to what Morelos is, he’s their best player. He’s got the talent.

“They bought him for £7 million. To then lose him for £3 million (profit), I don’t think they would do it. But stranger things have happened.

“But I think, if they come in with bids and it’s closer to £15 million, then Rangers will probably look at it.”

Unlikely Rangers exit?

Gerrard’s aforementioned comments suggest that he does not want to lose Kent this summer, and the likelihood is that Rangers will not sell the 23-year-old.

Of course, a huge offer could change the Gers’ stance, but it is hard to see the Ibrox club sell such a key player for £15 million, as they need him to stop bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic from winning the Scottish Premiership title for the 10th season in a row in 2020-21.

Meanwhile, Ross McCrorie has posted an emotional farewell message to Rangers on Instagram after leaving the Gers for Aberdeen on a season-long loan deal, with the move to become permanent at the end of the season.
